Whenever we enter a customers premises in order to deliver and/or install our products we have to follow strict health and safety guidelines. Risk assessment procedures are required in order to make sure everyone is safe in the immediate area.
Work with the Customer – Before performing the tasks that we have agreed with the customer it is best to get as much information as possible from them. This can include the area we will be working in, how many staff members will be present, if there will be any passers-by, customer or suppliers in the area as our team works.
Analyse the Area for Hazards – The first port of call is to ensure that the area where our team will be working is safe. Our team will analyse the area and look for potential hazards, including the surrounding walkways and where outsiders could be in danger as we are working.
Secure the Area – Once we have looked at the potential hazards it is time to put the safety measures in place. This might sometimes be a word of warning to those working close by or hazard warning signs with a timescale attached. It differs from project to project.
Swift and Safe Work – After all the planning has been completed and the area secured for work, and once all people in the area understand we are working and for how long, it is time to commence with the project. This might not always be that intrusive, but the key is to keep things simple, effective and to finish as quickly as possible without compromising on the quality of the end product.
